  Robotic Marketing

Automated Ebay ad buying + Automated Google ads = bad taste adverts.

Taking the ad at face value though, what are they selling?

Rockets for Hezbullah?
Berths on evacuation ships for civilians?
"My First Middle East Map" for George W Bush?

That was the World Cup that was
Hmmm, so the World Cup started out good but kinda fizzled out a bit.

Best game I thought was Italy - Germany in the semi.
Even though there were no goals for 118mins you could tell it was top class football.

Apart from that, I'm struggling to think of a game that you could say that about (ARG - Mex?).

Too many games were decided on penalties but the stadiums looked tremendous.

The biggest talking point is, of course, Zidane's headbutt.
I found a good video on youtube that shows the incident from a different angle.

1) it looks even worse
2) Matterazzi gives him stick all the way through the incident.

Some fantastic mashups also on youtube:

  Ah Well
I can enjoy the World Cup now.
That was England's best chance in a while to win and they blew it. Crap manager, crap forwards.

But... Its not all bad.
I found a wasps' nest in my shed today (stay with me, it does lead somewhere).
If England won, the wasps were getting it. Since they didn't, the wasps get a stay of execution.

Honestly though, its the 90th aniversary of the Battle of the Somme today and Scots get called anti-English racists for supporting England's opposition at football. Yes, football, a game. Scots have been spilling blood since 1707 for the British Empire but suddenly we're traitors to the "Motherland"? - Pish .

We've been football rivals since the year dot (The "year dot" at football starts with a Scotland - England match) but suddenly this year its an issue?
It's despicable the English and Scottish tabloids try to stir up hate between the two countries over trivial issues. It has the stupidness and mis-directed energy of Peadiatricians getting battered in yet another peado scare. Cui Bono?

Oh, and well done to Andy Murray for beating Andy Roddick at Wimbledon. He'll be British for at least the next round now.
